Enrollment Analysis: Hispanic students comprised 9.5% of Homer Junior High School’s student body in 2022-23 school year

There were 80 Hispanic students enrolled in Homer Junior High School in the 2022-23 school year, 2.4% less than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 842 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, Hispanic students comprised 9.5% of the student body to be the second most represented ethnicity in the school.

The school is located in Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C with a central office in Homer Glen.

Among the six schools in Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C, Hadley Middle School recorded the highest enrollment of Hispanic students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 838 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
