Meijer has announced a $25,000 donation to The Other Way Ministries in Grand Rapids, made on behalf of Lilia Vu, the 2024 Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give Champion. This contribution follows the tournament's achievement of raising $2 million and continues a tradition started in 2021, allowing champions to select a hunger relief program to support.

Previous champions Leona Maguire, Jennifer Kupcho, and Nelly Korda directed similar donations to Kids' Food Basket. Melissa Conway, Director of Community Partnerships & Giving at Meijer, emphasized the importance of supporting local organizations like The Other Way. "We are humbled and honored to support local organizations like The Other Way, which plays a crucial role in addressing hunger at the community level," she said.

Lilia Vu chose The Other Way Ministries due to its impact on a key neighborhood in Grand Rapids. Brittany Lang, an LPGA Pro, also visited the pantry with Hank Meijer during the tournament week. Vu stated, "The Other Way serves a niche community right in the heart of Grand Rapids experiencing high levels of food insecurity."

Founded in 1967, The Other Way Ministries focuses on empowering individuals and families through programs addressing basic needs and community development. It offers food assistance through a client-choice pantry and other initiatives.

Scott Bloem, executive director of The Other Way Ministries expressed gratitude for this donation. "We are incredibly grateful for this donation from Lilia on behalf of Meijer," he said.

The next Meijer LPGA Classic for Simply Give is scheduled for June 12-15, 2025. More information can be found at meijerlpgaclassic.com.
