Meijer has announced the recipients of its 2024 Legacy Awards, a recognition for team members who embody the company's core values and drive innovation. The Fred Meijer Award, given to one employee each year, honors individuals who demonstrate humility, generosity, and a passion for serving others. This year's recipient is Maureen Mitchell, Regional Vice President. Over her 15-year tenure at Meijer, Mitchell has been recognized as a leader and mentor, actively engaging with both colleagues and customers. Her contributions to the community and retail industry have earned her numerous accolades.

The Earl Holton President's Award was presented to five employees for their leadership, excellence, and innovation. The awardees are Blaine Bishop (Associate ITS Manager), Candy Tam (Logistics Manager), Ethan Thomas (Store Director), Cassie Walker (Supply Chain Pharmacy Tech), and Monica Wyant (Produce Business Manager).

"As a family-owned company, Meijer not only treats our team as family but works to uphold the values that have made us who we are for the past 90 years," stated Executive Chairman Hank Meijer. "The Legacy Awards honor the leadership, innovation, and service of our team members who work hard every day to ensure our customers and communities have the best experience possible."

"The Legacy Awards are unique because the nominations come from coworkers who see these team members in action every day," said Rick Keyes, President & CEO of Meijer. "Their passion and dedication fuel our success and make Meijer a special place to work."

Meijer operates over 500 locations across the Midwest and employs more than 70,000 people. Known for pioneering the one-stop shopping concept, it offers a wide range of products including fresh foods, apparel, household essentials, health services, among others.
