George Bosman, a former math teacher and coach at Timothy Christian School, has found a new home at Park Place of Elmhurst. The apartments are conveniently located just five blocks from his previous residence, offering him a view of the athletic fields where he spent much of his career. "That was the deciding factor," says George. "We are a major sports family. To join the family, you have to sign a contract that you love sports," he jokes.
Since the passing of his wife Carolyn three years ago, George had been living alone. Moving after 52 years was challenging, but he now considers Park Place his home. His apartment is decorated in the same style as his long-time family house.
George had visited friends in other communities but felt there was no comparison to Park Place. He praises the food quality and variety, which accommodates his Type II Diabetes needs. "The food is wonderful... I have to watch what I eat, but there's always good food for me here," he notes.
The friendly staff also contributes significantly to George's positive experience. "Everybody is just out-of-this-world friendly... They make it a point to get to know you and remember your name," he says. The staff encourages residents to engage in various activities and groups.
George participates in numerous activities such as ping-pong, pool, and Pinochle weekly. He enjoys staying active with fellow residents and appreciates the exercise facilities available on-site. Recently, he enjoyed swimming with his grandson and looks forward to winter swimming.
Additionally, George cherishes moments spent on the Arbor Walk with his granddaughter and her dog during visits. Park Place has surpassed his expectations by eliminating worries about chores like snow shoveling or meal planning while providing diverse dining options every night.
