Linda Seaberg, a resident of Park Place, has embraced her new lifestyle in a retirement community. After the passing of her husband and feeling isolated in her condo in Burr Ridge, she sought a more social environment. Her decision to move was influenced by family members living in a similar community.

Seaberg spent seven months researching various communities before deciding on Park Place. "I must have come back to Park Place about 10 times," she said, describing the welcoming atmosphere that made it feel like home. She appreciates the smaller size compared to other communities she visited.

Despite being active prior to moving, Seaberg found herself with little to do at times. At Park Place, she finds numerous activities available at any time of day. "Whereas here, I know there’s something I can do any minute of the day," she explained.

Initially skeptical about moving into what her children referred to as an "old peoples’ home," Seaberg now enjoys the independence and social opportunities offered by the community. She often meets people in common areas such as the Library or Bistro and feels that "living in a place like this really keeps you young."

Before officially relocating, Seaberg took part in marketing events which allowed her to meet future neighbors over lunch. This helped ease her transition into the community where everyone was "just welcoming" and "so friendly." Since moving in, she continues to form new friendships.

Seaberg is confident about her decision and shares that with her children: “After I moved in, I told my kids it was the best decision I ever made.” The variety of activities including physical therapy, gym access, swimming pool use, and planned events with Timothy Christian School students provide ample engagement for residents.
