Giosa Spadafina (nee Piscopo), aged 90, born in Bari, Italy, and formerly of Franklin Park, passed away. She was the beloved wife of the late Michele and loving mother of Anthony (Rose) Spadafina, Giovanni Spadafina, and Mina (Victor) Scumaci. Giosa was the devoted grandmother of Lucy (Peter) Ulrich, Michael (Casey) Spadafina, Dimitri, Giovanni (Sheena Gomez) Spadafina, Victor, Michael, and Danielle (Dominick Agate) Scumaci. She was the great-grandmother of Sadie, Layla, Tuxton, and Anthony. Giosa was the cherished daughter of the late Giovanni and Vincenza Piscopo, dear sister of Rosa Ventrella, Maria Francesconi, and the late Antonio, Anna, Giacinto, and Vincenzo Piscopo, and had many nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held on Monday, March 24, 2025, at 10:15 a.m. at Richard J Modell Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 12641 W. 143rd Street, Homer Glen, proceeding to St. Bernard Church for Mass at 11:00 a.m. The entombment will take place at Queen of Heaven Mausoleum.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, March 23, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Known for her love of cooking, gardening, flowers, music, and dancing, Giosa will be remembered for her zest for life and her deep love for her family.
