Lorraine E. Peterson, 87, Remembered for Her Artistic Passion and Community Contributions

Lorraine E. Peterson (nee Podgorski), aged 87, of Orland Park, passed away. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth W. Peterson and the loving mother of Deborah Peterson and Sandra J. Peterson (Mark) Bialik. Lorraine was the grandmother of Joseph Peterson and the cherished daughter of the late Alphonese and Lottie ("Lolly") Podgorski. She was the dear sister of Kathleen (Lawrence) Kupczyk, Al Podgorski, and the late Nancy (and late Alan) Oliver, along with many nieces and nephews.

Lorraine obtained her college degree from "The Art Institute of Chicago" and was a skilled, passionate creator who found joy in various art forms such as photography, painting, and teaching watercolor pictures and portraits. She shared her talents at institutions like Moraine Valley Community College, St. Xavier University, local churches, schools, art shows, and independently. Lorraine actively supported several charitable women's groups and had a deep passion for nature, peace, birds, and animals, particularly cats.
