Park Place of Elmhurst has appointed Joe Xanthopoulos as its new Executive Director. With a career spanning over three decades in senior living, healthcare, and non-profit leadership, Xanthopoulos brings extensive experience to the role. His journey into this field was shaped by a diverse career path and a commitment to faith, service, and community.

Xanthopoulos expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome he received at Park Place. “I’ve worked with a lot of communities over the years, but the welcome I’ve received here has been something special,” he said. “The residents and staff genuinely care about each other. That kind of positivity is contagious.”

His professional background includes roles in sports management, fundraising, community outreach, and senior care leadership across several states including Illinois, Wisconsin, Florida, and New Hampshire. Throughout his career, he has focused on building meaningful relationships and promoting strong values.

He describes his leadership style as that of a servant leader. “The best leaders in this field are servant leaders,” Xanthopoulos explained. “They’re the ones who stop to pick something up off the floor, who listen first, and who work to make every person feel valued.”

A native of Westchester, Illinois, Xanthopoulos is an alumnus of Elmhurst University and holds a master’s degree from Ohio University. He has personal ties to the Chicagoland area where he resides with his family.

His approach to leadership is influenced by his faith. When asked about his motivation, he stated: “My work is grounded in my faith. I don’t use it to push beliefs on others. I use it to guide how I treat people; with compassion, love, and honesty.”

At Park Place of Elmhurst, Xanthopoulos aims to maintain the positive atmosphere while supporting growth within the community. He noted: “There’s a joy in this community that’s easy to feel. My goal is to listen, support, and keep that energy strong.”
