Homer Township Public Library's recent expansion project has been highlighted in the March 2024 issue of the Illinois Library Association Reporter magazine. This publication is distributed to libraries, friends, and advocates throughout Illinois.
Executive Director Sheree Kozel-La Ha emphasized that "both expansions were self-funded with no increase in taxpayer cost." She attributed this achievement to "conservative budget management and a visionary Board of Library Trustees." According to Kozel-La Ha, Homer Township Library constitutes only 1.8% of a resident's tax bill.
The new library space includes a Family Social and Program area as well as an entry Sunroom. These facilities are reportedly popular, serving over 300 visitors daily.
Details about Homer Library’s project can be found on page 27 of the magazine. The full showcase is available online at https://www.ila.org/content/documents/ila_reporter_0324_updated.pdf
