Meijer has announced that it will offer turkeys and Thanksgiving meal essentials at significantly reduced prices this year. The retailer, based in Grand Rapids, Michigan, is providing Meijer brand frozen turkeys for as low as 49 cents per pound until November 30. Customers can purchase all necessary ingredients for a traditional Thanksgiving meal serving four to six people for approximately $37. This includes a 14-pound turkey along with items like mashed potatoes, green bean casserole, sweet potato casserole, cranberry sauce, stuffing, gravy, dinner rolls, and pumpkin pie.
Jenn Martin, Vice President of Fresh at Meijer stated: "As a family-owned company, we understand the importance of holiday gatherings like Thanksgiving. We're working hard to offer low prices on Thanksgiving staples so our customers can focus on enjoying a special meal with family and friends without having to worry about the cost."
The retailer expects to sell over one million turkeys and nine million pounds of russet and sweet potatoes leading up to Thanksgiving. Meijer's selection includes both fresh and frozen options:
- Meijer brand frozen turkey at 49 cents per pound or lower
- Meijer brand fresh turkey at 99 cents per pound
- Butterball brand frozen turkey at 99 cents per pound
- Butterball fresh turkey at $1.99 per pound
Fresh turkeys will be available in stores starting the week of November 17. There is a limit of one Meijer brand turkey per customer, but additional discounts are available through mPerks. Customers can sign up for mPerks online or via the Meijer app.
