Meijer is offering a variety of back-to-school essentials for $1 or less as families prepare for the upcoming school year across the Midwest. The retailer has announced that items such as notebooks, crayons, pencils, folders, and glue will be available at reduced prices.
Becky Bronkema, Vice President of Hardlines for Meijer, stated: "We know families are busy this time of year, attempting to balance summer fun and preparations for the school year. By offering school supply essentials for $1 or less, we're making back-to-school shopping easy and affordable, ensuring families find the best value in the convenience of a one-stop shop."
The company is also reintroducing its digital "School Supply List" technology. This feature allows parents to search their school's supply lists by teacher and add items to their cart with one click.
For teachers, Meijer continues its tradition of offering a 15 percent discount on school and home office equipment. Teachers can obtain this discount by presenting a current school ID at any Meijer Customer Service desk. The coupon is valid through September 7 and can be used on kids' apparel and select electronics.
According to AdoptAClassroom.org, teachers spent an average of $895 out-of-pocket on supplies during the last school year. To alleviate some costs, Meijer will offer select supplies in bulk packaging at affordable prices.
Meijer operates over 500 locations throughout the Midwest and employs more than 70,000 team members. Known for pioneering the one-stop shopping concept, Meijer offers fresh foods, apparel, household essentials, health products, and services both in-store and online.
