Over the past 12 years, Verrick Goss has developed a career that began in the kitchen and evolved into a maintenance role at Providence Life Services. His journey reflects his adaptability and appreciation for the community he serves.
When Village Woods closed, Goss transitioned to Victorian Village, where he found a new opportunity. "They needed help in maintenance, and I was already helping in that department here and there," he recalled. "I stuck with it, and I liked it."
Goss finds fulfillment not only in repairing things but also in interacting with people. "It makes you feel good, working and helping people," he shared.
His daily tasks range from routine maintenance checks to addressing unexpected challenges. "There’s always something new to do, so it’s never boring," Goss said, highlighting his dedication to his work.
Goss's experience underscores the growth opportunities available at Providence Life Services. Starting in the kitchen, he discovered a passion for maintenance and now enjoys a fulfilling career.
"I’ve been with the company for 12 years now," he stated. "The people here are great to work with, and I haven’t had any problems in all that time."
Although currently residing about 20 minutes from Victorian Village, Goss has lived in various places throughout his life—from Chicago to Germany as a child, then North Carolina, Indiana, and back to Illinois.
