Homer Athletic Club opens registration for youth basketball; coaches needed

Registration for recreational basketball is now open for all age groups, with the deadline set for October 1. The program is also seeking coaches at every level to help support the upcoming season.

The Rookie program, which includes kindergarten through second grade, will have games exclusively on Saturdays. For other age groups, games and practices may be scheduled any day from Monday through Saturday.

Teammate requests in the 3rd-8th grade divisions will only be guaranteed if volunteers choose to coach a team together. Evaluations for these divisions are scheduled for early October to help create balanced teams. Practices are expected to start in late October, and games will run from November through February.
