Looking for a new job? Career Central is a dedicated section of the library designed to assist job-seekers. It offers resources such as books on career exploration, resume writing, technology skills, and starting a business. Additionally, there are materials to help individuals succeed in their current roles, covering topics like management, remote work, and salary negotiation.
Beyond books, Career Central provides information about the Workforce Center of Will County (WCWC), a reliable local organization for job-seekers. Visitors can find fliers detailing upcoming WCWC events and resources like their weekly Job Fair in a Bag giveaway.
For those needing assistance with resume creation, Adult Services staff are available to guide users on how to utilize Microsoft Word templates for resumes or cover letters.
Career Central was established through the Job Seekers Wanted: Bouncing Back from the Pandemic grant. This grant was funded by the Illinois State Library, part of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds from the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services under the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA).
