Homer Junior High School Education: 11 multiracial students were enrolled in 2022-23 school year

There were 11 multiracial students enrolled in Homer Junior High School in the 2022-23 school year, 42.1% less than the previous year, according to the Illinois State Board of Education report.

Data showed that the school welcomed 842 students during the 2022-23 school year. Among them, multiracial students comprised 1.3% of the student body to be the least represented ethnicity in the school.

Among the six schools in Homer Community Consolidated School District 33C, Luther J. Schilling School recorded the highest enrollment of multiracial students in the 2022-23 school year, with a total of 705 students.

Illinois registered one of the largest enrollment drops during the pandemic. Since 2020, the Prarie State lost nearly 118,000 students, further intensifying a decline trend established since 2013.
