St. Louis de Montfort’s Sally Burton Food Pantry has been serving the community since 2003, providing essential resources to residents of Fishers, Indiana, and beyond. Situated at 116th Street and Hague Road, the pantry caters to clients from a wide geographic area including southern Hamilton County and northern Marion County.

Jamie Anderson, Coordinator of Stewardship & Outreach at St. Louis de Montfort, explained the reach of their services: “We have always served the Fishers community and southern Hamilton County, but we also see a lot of clients from northern Marion County.” The pantry supports individuals from diverse backgrounds and neighborhoods such as Castleton, Lawrence, and McCordsville.

The food pantry is frequented by families, many with six or more members. Nearly 75% of visitors are Spanish speakers, supported by a Spanish interpreter available during operating hours. Anderson emphasized creating a welcoming environment for immigrants from South America and the Middle East: “These clients are people first...we are here to serve.”

A significant portion of food donations consists of shelf-stable items. However, through Meijer’s Simply Give program, the pantry can now offer fresh produce. Anderson noted the positive impact: “It’s amazing to see how excited people get every time we have fresh produce.” Fresh fruits and vegetables not only meet dietary needs but also contribute to better learning and energy levels among children.

Beyond food items, St. Louis de Montfort offers hygiene products like feminine hygiene supplies and baby essentials such as diapers—items not covered by Indiana's WIC program. "We prioritize the dignity of everyone who comes in," said Anderson.

With an increasing demand for its services—up 20% annually—the pantry faces space constraints but remains committed to expanding its capacity with help from programs like Meijer Simply Give. Anderson remarked on future plans: “Programs like Meijer Simply Give...allow us to plan long-term for the community’s growing needs.”
